Dewulf Site

The Dewulf Site is a Paleoindian site in Henry County IL that is believed to have been a ritual site. The site was discovered by ISAS members Kenny and Jeff Hipskind and was brought to the attention of professional Archaeologists who conducted studies at the site in 2009 and 2010. In 2020 the excavation was reopened. Members of the ISAS and Iowa and Wisconsin Archaeological societies were given the opportunity to volunteer and help in the excavation. This video explains importance of the Dewulf site and about the excavations.
